EPHRATA — Kevin Kershaw, 55, of Yakima, was attempting to drive his 2025 GMC Sierra on the canal road when he attempted to turn around and lost control of the vehicle Thursday. The vehicle slid into the canal and Kershaw was found deceased downstream from the vehicle.
Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to the canal near Road A NW and Road 9 NW, southeast of Ephrata, after someone reported a white vehicle submerged in the canal, leading to the discovery of Kershaw's death.
According to GCSO, Columbia Basin Dive and Rescue assisted with recovering Kershaw and his vehicle.
