YAKIMA, Wash. – One person is in critical but stable condition after a major crash on Thursday afternoon, Yakima police said.
According to the Yakima Police Department, at about 3:48 p.m. on September 18, officers heard a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on north 16th Avenue and Monroe Avenue. Police said they arrived on the scene to find a man unresponsive in the roadway with serious injuries. Officers said he was taken to a Yakima-area hospital, then to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for advanced medical care.
Police said the pedestrian is in stable but critical condition. Officers said the driver showed no signs of impairment at the scene, and was extremely cooperative with the investigation. Yakima police said they are investigating the crash, and asked anyone with additional information to contact officer Darius Williams at 509-306-3814.
