HARRAH, Wash. – One person is dead after a crash with a school bus that also injured three students Monday morning, according to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, in the morning of October 6 a school bus was involved in a crash on McDonald Road and Harrah Road. Deputies said they arrived to find a school bus on its side with three students and the driver having gotten out before they got there. Deputies said the students in the bus suffered minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated. The driver was unharmed.
According to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when the driver of an SUV, identified as a 71-year-old man, failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the bus. Deputies said he was declared deceased at the scene.
The YCSO said an investigation is underway, and have promised more information in the future.
