YAKIMA, Wash. – Police are looking for the driver of an SUV that allegedly hit two teenagers crossing the street on Monday night and sped off, leaving them with injuries that sent them to the hospital.
According to the Yakima Police Department, at about 5:45 p.m. on November 11, officers and firefighters reported to a reported vehicle-pedestrian hit-and-run crash near the intersection of south Fair Avenue and east Spruce Street. Police said they arrived to find two teenagers had been crossing Fair Avenue when they were hit by a southbound 1998 Dodge Caravan. Police said witnesses at the scene rushed to help the teenagers, and also identified the driver and took a picture of his vehicle as he drove away.
Police said the teenagers were taken to Multi-Care Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they are looking for the driver of the Caravan, identified as a 62-year-old Yakima man. Police said the driver is facing felony hit-and-run charges.
