A man from Yakima died early Wednesday morning following a drunk driving incident near Selah, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene after an iPhone crash alert came in around 12:30 a.m.
They found that 22-year-old Francisco Mendoza-Rodriguez had been ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries.
An autopsy was conducted Thursday morning to confirm the cause of death.
The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the crash but has confirmed that alcohol was a factor.
Details about any other occupants in the vehicle have not been released at this time.
