PIERCE COUNTY, WA (Jan 24, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, a 17-year-old girl was seriously injured in a car crash that occurred in Spanaway.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported that a Subaru was speeding northbound on Highway E. and turning into a Walmart around noon Tuesday when it hit a Chevrolet Silverado.
The 17-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in the crash. Three occupants of the Subaru, 18-year-old males, were taken in unknown conditions to the hospital. The driver of the truck, a 69-year-old man, was not hurt.
Authorities said speed appears to be a factor in the crash. The accident is still under investigation.
