YAKIMA COUNTY, WA (April 3, 2023) — On Sunday afternoon, one person was killed and another was taken to the hospital after a car crash in Yakima.
The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. near 112th Avenue and Summitview Avenue.
According to police, one of the vehicles slid on the snow on the road and drifted into oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. A pickup truck struck the side of the car after failing to stop in time.
According to authorities, the driver of the automobile that slid was brought to the hospital with unidentified injuries, while the passenger of the car died.
Authorities say alcohol or drugs do not appear to have played a role in the accident.
