Fatal Crash on SR 101 Closes Highway Causing Miles of Traffic

CLALLAM COUNTY, WA (2/22/2020) — Both directions of State Route 101 were closed on Saturday due to a fatal accident. 

Washington State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson reported that the accident occurred around 4:01 p.m. on SR 101 in Clallam County, two miles east of Sequim.

Crews worked to clear the accident and debris, but there were no detours available, which resulted in a few miles of traffic in both directions of the highway. The highway reopened around 6:34 p.m. 

Details regarding the accident have not yet been released to the public and the accident is still under investigation.
