Douglass County, WA (11/07/2019) – Washington State Patrol responded to the second crash near East Wenatchee in two days. The collision happened around 7 am on State Route 28.
Francisco Maldonaldobeltran, 17, attempted to speed northbound across the highway. A separate car, traveling eastbound, could not slow down in time and crashed into the side of Maldonaldobeltran’s car.
The 17-year-old driver received charges of second-degree negligent driving and no proof of liability insurance. Police ruled that an obstructed view of traffic caused the accident. There were two other passengers in Maldonaldobeltran’s vehicle. Trooper John Bryant stated that Maldonaldobeltran did not clear his windshield of frost that morning.
EMTs transported all four people involved, to Central Washington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
