Motorcyclist Killed in Nine Mile Falls Crash

NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. (Sept. 9, 2019)-A crash involving a motorcycle along Highway 291 left one person dead early Friday, September 6th.

According to Washington State Patrol, 25-year-old Christopher Midwell was traveling northbound on a sportbike around 3 a.m. when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck a sedan. Midwell was ejected from his motorcycle in the collision.

Midwell was pronounced dead at the scene. Reports indicate that he was wearing a helmet. The driver of the sedan, 23-year-old Thomas Strader, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

WSP determined the cause of the crash to be reckless driving. Surrounding roadways were shut down for several hours as emergency crews worked on the scene.
