Semi-Truck Accident on SR 18 Kills North Bend Woman

MAPLE VALLEY, WA (1/25/2020) — On Saturday morning, one woman was killed when a car collided with a semi-truck on SR 18 in Maple Valley.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on SR 18 near milepost 27.

According to police, a woman from North Bend was traveling westbound on SR 18 in a small black SUV when it crossed the center line and collided with a semi-truck, which was traveling eastbound.

Both vehicles overturned into a roadside ditch after the head-on crash.

The North bend woman, 47, died at the scene of the accident. The truck driver, a 46-year-old man, was taken to Overlake Medical Center.

SR 18 was closed for almost seven hours after the collision. The accident is still under investigation, but Washington State Patrol has ruled out alcohol and drugs as factors of the crash.
