CLE ELUM, WA (May 17, 2023) — One person was killed and another was injured after a three-car crash on State Route 970, four miles east of Cle Elum.
A Volkswagen Golf was rammed into the back of a Volkswagen Jetta as it was getting ready to turn onto Red Bridge Road by a third vehicle that didn’t stop.
The driver of a Ford Econoline, the third vehicle, died at the scene. She has been identified as 37-year-old Elecia Vaughn of Cle Elum.
Despite being hurt, the second car’s driver was not sent to the hospital. According to reports, the crash rendered the Jetta and Golf totally destroyed.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
